Use your brain and remove the mask of “I-am-superman-untouchable-and-I-must-save-the-world”.
Stay who you are and use a mask to protect yourself from everything you see and hear. You can’t be changed, even if it changes you.
It is important not to lose your values, your honor and respect. Respect for yourself, respect for others. Remember the words that you learned from your grandfather, your parents, your Sensei.
You carry out your daily work without expecting anything in return. We all have a price; get paid for your value.
“Moment awareness”: Keep your eyes always open. Do not go around as if you were in battle, but absorb as much as possible of what is going on around you. What you see, what you feel, what you feel from within.
“Connecting the dots”: Make assumptions about what you see, or about what could happen. Try to be one step ahead. Put yourself in the mind of those who want to put you in check.
“Prepare for the worst, hope for the best”: just prepare yourself. Do not overdo it, but behave following the law of your country, using whatever you can to defend yourself. Train!
Be serious but relaxed. Help your customers and especially yourself.
All the best,
Dom
